Michael Novia is a designer living in Bend, Oregon with his wife and children. He is an early member of the National Design Studio, where he is contributing to the America by Design initiative.
Previously, Michael was a Creative Director at Adobe where he focused on Artificial Intelligence and emerging creative technologies after Frame.io was acquired by Adobe for over a billion dollars. Before Adobe, Michael honed his craft at MetaLab and Instrument — two of the most respected brand and product design studios in the industry, known for shaping products like Slack, Coinbase, and Nike's digital ecosystem. His career also includes work at Grow and Tombras, and brand, product, and visual design work with Facebook, Instagram, Google, Spotify, Nike, Dropbox, and Microsoft.
Michael's design philosophy is rooted in systematic modernism and lush minimalism. His recent works focus on encoding aesthetic judgment into structured, repeatable agentic frameworks — design that maintains craft and intentionality at scale.
